Continuing Education (CE) Requirements

Hours Required
30 hours are required biennially.
Compliance Date
License issue date, biennially.
Approved Course Delivery Methods
· Independent
self-study online or written courses (passing grade of 70% required
on final exam)
· Classroom
· Interactive Online
· Seminar
Exam Requirements
Self-study exams do not require a monitor.
Course Subject Requirements
There are no course subject requirements; agents may take any
Illinois approved courses.
Carryover Credits
A maximum of 15 credit hours may be carried over to the next compliance
period.
Course Repetition
Credit will not be given for courses repeated within a 3-year
period.
Exemptions
· Individuals
with a temporary license
· Individuals with any of the following limited licenses: baggage,
limited travel health, trip cancellation, industrial life or industrial
health.
Credit Reporting
CAPE
will report credits to the Illinois Department of Insurance
via paper
within 60 days of course completion. A course completion
certificate is provided for the agent’s records.
