Continuing Education (CE) Requirements
This information is intended to provide answers to commonly
asked questions by insurance agents. It is not intended to replace
detailed
information found in your state’s statutes and regulations.

Hours Required
30 credit hours, triennially
Compliance Date
First day of the month following the license issuance date, triennially
Approved Course Delivery Methods
• Written and
Online self-study courses (passing grade of 70% required on final
exam)
• Interactive Online
• Classroom
• Seminar
Exam Requirements
Self-study final exams do require a monitor. The monitor must be a training director, manager or supervisor.
Course Subject Requirements
Courses must be approved for the line of insurance held by the
agent.
Carryover Credits
Excess credit hours may not be carried over to the next reporting
period.
Course Repetition
Credit will not be given for a course that is repeated within
a three-year period.
Exemptions
• Nonresident
agents
• Individuals who have limited license
• Individuals who have had 20 years or more of continuous experience
in the insurance field.
• Individuals who are a CLU, CPCU, CIC, ChFC, or CFP.
Credit Reporting
Effective
September 1, 2006, Cape will report all continuing education
course completions to Sircon. Students are provided certificates
of completion, which they should keep for their own records.
