Requirements This information is intended to provide answers to commonly asked questions by insurance agents. Hours Required 24 credit hours are required biennially 6/30, even years (current compliance date 06/30/2010) Approved Course Delivery Methods • Classroom Course Subject Requirements • At least three credit hours must be completed in Ethics. Exam Requirements Self-study final exams are required to be monitored by a disinterested 3rd party (i.e., someone with no business or family relationship to the student). Carryover Credits Up to 6 credits may be carried forward from one biennium to the next. Producers becoming compliant due to the reduced 6-credit requirement are not eligible for carryover. Excess Ethics credits are treated as general credits when carried over. Course Repetition Credit will not be given for a course taken more than once within a biennium. Exemptions • Individuals
who are licensed only for credit life/credit accident and sickness
or insurance offered in connection with banks
and credit transactions CAPE will report credits to Prometric within 30 days of course completion. We provide a certificate of course completion for the agent’s records.
