WYOMING
Continuing Education (CE) Requirements
This
information is intended to provide answers to commonly asked
questions by insurance agents. It is not intended to replace
detailed information found in your state’s statutes and
regulations. Though we have made reasonable efforts to ensure

Hours Required
Producers and Adjusters, including non-resident adjusters must
complete 24 credit hours of CE, biennially.

Biennially on the producer’s
birth date
Approved Course Delivery Methods
• Independent self-study online
or written courses (passing grade of 70% required on final exam)
• Classroom
• Interactive Online
• Seminar
Exam Requirements
Self-study final exams are required to be monitored by a disinterested
3rd party (i.e. someone with no business or family relationship
to the student).
Course Subject Requirements
Agents may take any approved courses, however 3 of the required
hours must be in ethics.
Carryover Credits
Excess CE credit hours may not be carried over to the next reporting
period.
Course Repetition
Courses may not be taken more than once within a 2-year period..
Exemptions
• Individuals who have a limited
line license for credit life and credit disability or funeral
services contracts.
•
Individuals who hold a limited agent’s license.
• Nonresidents Producers as long as they complete the requirements of their home state.
• Motor Club agents and Incidental Public Carrier agents.
• Nonresident Adjusters who reside in a state with continuing education requirements for adjusters, as long as they complete the requirements of their home state.
Credit Reporting
Cape will report course completions to the Wyoming Department of Insurance within 60 days of course completion. A course completion certificate is provided for the agent. Each licensee will need to submit the Wyoming continuing education verification form, copies of their certificates of completion and the fee of $30 prior to the expiration of the producer’s license. The licensee should retain the original certificates of completion received for each course for a period of three (3) years.
